Research Task
Reflection:
I have been learning to write information texts. Now I know that I can use explanations in my research. I have also learnt that if you write an explanation in a google slide you should only write the main ideas because then if you don't it will be hard to read and if you do when you are presenting it, you can still say things you haven't wrote. Next I plan to do research by myself and add more slides.

Making Inferences
Reflection:
I was learning to make and justify inferences. I learnt that to make an inference you might have to look carefully for clues and other wise think about your background knowledge and text clues, and in a simpler form read between the lines. It was kind of tricky because the picture didn't have enough clues for me.
Earthworm Fact Sheet
Reflection:
learning to name the parts of an earthworm and tell facts about an earthworm. Now I know the parts of an earthworm and that earthworms have 5 hearts, 3 stomaches, they create a rich soil called humus, and thier poop is called catings. It was kind of hard because I forgot some of thier parts.
Hyperbole poem
The Dragons Day
Once there lived a dragon named Alex.
Alex lived In a swamp where it rains cats and dogs
Alex’s breath burnt down the entire city,
so have a little pity.
Alex goes redder than a flame,
especially when he gets all the blame.
One day he was ravenous and ate the car jam,
and it just felt like a gram!
Alex bounced so high he went to Mars,
and even became one of are stars!
He was so strong he could carry a plane,
while eating a candy cane.
Alex flew so high he went to the moon,
just in the afternoon!

Reflection
I was learning to make a hyperbole poem. I learnt that you need to make your sentences quite short, two lines are one stanza ,and how to make a hyperbole poem. To make a hyperbole poem you need to have characters or a character and exaggarate about it and try to make it at least 10 stanzas. My next step is to try and right about something real becaus real things will be harder to exaggarate about.

Make and Justifying Inferences
Reflection:
I was learning to make and justify infrences by finding clues.
I got a lot better at making inferencing and I know that because I can do it
faster and I can make good inferences. I have learnt that to inference,
you need to find clues, think and read between the lines.

Place Value Partitioning
Reflection:
I have been learning to use place value partitioning to subtract 3 digit numbers.
I got a lot better at subtracting and being accuratte with the answers.
I have learnt that you have to subtract left to right and you can't subtract a bigger number from a smaller number.
Now I plan to subtract higher numbers and subtract them faster.

Nonsense poem
Breaking news!
Two stinky socks.
Two stinky socks.
That’s the news.
When it’s sunny,
It gets a bit funny.
The stinky sock,
Sat on the rock.
Socks on feet,
get lot of heat.
When it’s cold,
they aren’t bold.
When it’s windy,
they get chilly.
That was the news.
Two stinky socks,
two stinky socks.
That was the news!

My reflection
Today I discovered what a nonsence poem is. It is a poem where you make a boring object, interesting. I got a lot better at being creative and making rhymes. My next step is to add more stanzas to make it more interesting.

Statistics
Reflection:
We have been learning to collect data using tally marks. Something I enjoyed was collecting the data by asking people the choices. Something I found tricky was thinking what you type on the y line and the x line for the bar and pie graghs. Next time I would like to use a different graph.

Mokomoko Facts
Reflection:
We have been learning about lizards because we are taking care of our lizard garden. I enjoyed doing the thinglink because it was new and fun. Something I found tricky was writing the facts because there were so many facts. Something I found easy was finding the picture because there was a lot that we might find in our lizard garden. Something I found tricky was finding key information. Next time I will add more details on my own.

Summarising
Reflection:
We have been learning to summarise by finding the main idea in a text. The diagram above shows how we identified the main idea. Something I enjoyed was typing the facts. Something I found tricky was uploading it on to my blog because I forgot how to. Next time I would like to take the photo on my own.

13.3.18
Dear Mum and Dad,
I can hear the wind blowing very hard. I can hear planes flying as fast as cheetahs. There are people chattering. A rocky crater is in my sight. People are climbing dusty tracks. There are houses as tiny as an ant. I can see people playing sports. My nose can smell fresh air and the aroma of the burgers. My mouth can taste sweet and warm burgers. The burgers are as squishy as a spongy ball. Gross dust blows in my mouth. The grass feels damp.
Where am I?

Reflection:
We have been learning to describe a setting by using our senses. I enjoyed typing it up because I love ICT. Something I found tricky was thinking about the sentence starters. Next time I will add more detail.
